How do I find my horses size?

Measure the nose circumference where a cavesson noseband would sit, keeping the tape snug but not tight. Then match your measurement to the size guide image in the product photos above.

We offer five sizes: Small Pony, Pony, Cob, Full, and Extra Full.

If your horse falls between two sizes on the nose width, size up. If you're unsure, drop us a message before ordering - we're happy to help.

Why is a metal-free halter or headcollar better for groundwork?

Metal hardware creates dead spots in the line of communication between your hand and your horse. Clips absorb signal. Rings rattle and distract. Buckles add bulk.

Our halter removes all of that. With a completely metal-free design, every subtle cue travels directly through the rope to your horse - and releases just as quickly. That instant pressure and release is what builds understanding over time.

What makes your halters waterproof?

Built for every weather

This halter is made from premium 6mm PPM rope - a material that doesn't absorb water. Unlike traditional rope headcollars that soak up moisture, stiffen in the cold, and lose their shape over time, PPM rope stays soft, flexible, and featherlight in any conditions.

Rain, mud, sweat - nothing affects it. After a wet session, simply rinse and hang to dry. It won't hold moisture against your horse and won't develop odour.

What is a Fiador Knot?

Traditional design, handmade precision

Every halter is hand-knotted using a traditional Fiador knot design. This knotwork provides precise, balanced contact across the poll, nose, and jaw - making it ideal for groundwork, liberty training, and in-hand work.

Each knot is placed by hand here in the UK, not mass-produced or machine-tied. This means consistent quality and a halter that communicates exactly as it should.

How do I care for my new rope halter?

Looking after your halter

Rinse with water when needed. That's it.

PPM rope doesn't absorb dirt or moisture, so there's no soaking, scrubbing, or special treatment required.

IMPORTANT: Safety Notice

Never tie your horse directly with this rope.

This groundwork rope is designed for in-hand work only - groundwork, liberty, leading, and training. It is not a tie-up rope.

If you need to tie your horse using this rope, always use a loop of baling twine or a purpose-made breakaway tie between the rope and the tying point. This gives you a breakaway point in case your horse pulls back, reducing the risk of injury to your horse or damage to the rope.

Never tie directly to a fixed object without a breakaway safety measure.
