Here's the best bit about BioThane, rope and paracord: they're built for real life, not a glass cabinet. No oiling, no conditioning, no faffing about. A wipe, a rinse, a proper dry — and you're back out the door. Here's how to keep every piece bright and lasting for years.

The 30-second version

Wipe or hand-wash in warm soapy water, rinse, and let it air dry fully. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no scrubbing with anything harsh. That's genuinely it for most days.

BioThane — the waterproof stuff

The easy one. BioThane doesn't soak up water, sweat or smell, so most of the time a quick wipe is all it needs.

Everyday: wipe over with a damp cloth or a baby wipe — mud, slobber and yard grime come straight off.
Proper clean: warm water with a little washing-up liquid, a wipe or gentle scrub with a soft cloth or sponge, then rinse and pat dry.
Stuck-on gunk (tar, sap, sticky bits): dab on a little rubbing alcohol, leave it a minute, wipe away.
Please avoid: harsh abrasives (steel wool scratches the coating) and strong solvents.

Premium Rope — our weather-proof rope

Made to shrug off the weather. A soft brush and warm soapy water lifts off dried mud and dust. Rinse well and — this is the important bit — let it dry fully before it goes away, ideally hung up somewhere airy. Keep it away from direct high heat (no radiators, no tumble dryer): the fibres don't love it.

Paracord — the braided colours

Paracord loves a wash and comes up beautifully bright.

By hand: warm water with a little mild detergent (a pinch of bicarb helps with any pong), then pat dry and leave to air dry completely.
First wash: keep the water cool and wash bright, bold shades on their own to begin with — deep colours can release a little excess dye the first time. It's completely normal and settles after.
Golden rule: after any wet or muddy adventure, take it off and let it dry fully before it goes back on — damp paracord left bunched up is the one thing that can start to smell.
Please avoid: hot water, bleach, the tumble dryer, and leaving it damp and squashed in a bag.

Metal fittings

Every buckle and clip is hard-wearing, but salt is metal's enemy. After the beach or the sea, give the hardware a quick rinse in fresh water and dry it off — keeps everything moving sweetly for years.
