BioThane is a coated webbing that looks and feels like leather but performs like nothing else. It's waterproof, stink-proof, and wipe-clean - meaning whatever your dog rolls in, the collar stays fresh.

Unlike fabric or nylon, nothing absorbs into BioThane. Water runs off. Mud wipes away in seconds. There's no moisture sitting against your dog's coat and no smell building up over time.

It's flexible in cold weather, won't stiffen or crack, and holds its colour walk after walk. The same material has been used in equestrian tack, medical equipment, and military gear for decades - it's built to last.

How do I clean my new BioThane dog lead?

Simply wipe it down with a damp cloth after use. For a deeper clean, warm soapy water does the job. It dries almost instantly and won't hold onto odours - even after the muddiest of walks.

What width should I choose for my dog lead?

Is BioThane safe for dogs that chew?

Yes. BioThane has an exceptionally high tensile strength and our hardware is rated to handle strong dogs. For very large or powerful breeds, we recommend the 25mm width for the most secure grip and strongest hardware.
